Code Construct Start a site

Website development

A website that does
its job, for a price
you can see.

Most web quotes start with a call and end with a number you did not expect. Ours are on this page. Pick the size that fits, know the cost and the date before anything starts.

01 — What it costs

Three sizes. Pick the one
that sounds like you.

Prices are per project, not per hour, and they include everything in the list under each one. VAT is not charged.

Build

You need the site to do something, not just say something.

from £1,000/ $1,350

Typically 3 weeks, scoped first

  • Everything in Presence, plus:
  • Customer logins and accounts
  • Bookings, payments, or ordering
  • Connections to the tools you already use
  • Custom interactive work, animation, 3D
  • Anything genuinely bespoke
Talk through a Build

These are launch prices while I build up a portfolio of named client work. They will go up. Anything quoted to you is held for 30 days.

02 — What I can actually build

The best example
is the page you
came from.

The Code Construct homepage is a live WebGL build: a machine that assembles itself as you scroll, data moving through it in real time, an agent working through a real invoice. No stock template, no page builder, written from nothing.

That is the ceiling. Most businesses do not need it, and I will tell you honestly if you do not. But it is there so you can see what the top of the range looks like before you spend anything.

03 — How it works

Four steps. No surprises
in any of them.

  1. 01

You tell me what you need

A form or a twenty minute call. I will tell you which of the three sizes fits, and I will say so if the smaller one is enough.

  2. 02

You get the price and the date in writing

Before anything starts. Half up front, half when the site goes live. If the scope changes, you approve the change before I build it.

  3. 03

I build it and you watch it happen

You get a private link from day one and can look whenever you want. No waiting three weeks to find out it is wrong.

  4. 04

It goes live and it is yours

On your domain, in your accounts, with the code handed over. I will show you how to update it. You are not tied to me afterwards.

04 — The questions everyone asks

Why is this cheaper than the agency that quoted me £4,000?

Because there is no agency. No account manager, no sales team, no office. You are talking to the person writing the code. I am also pricing low on purpose right now to build up client work I can point to. That is a real reason and I would rather say it than pretend.

What are the ongoing costs?

A domain is usually £10 to £15 a year, paid to the registrar, not to me. Hosting for a Launch or Presence site is free on the platforms I use. A Build with logins or payments may need paid hosting, typically £15 to £25 a month, and I will tell you the exact figure before you commit. I do not charge a monthly fee and there is no retainer.

Who owns the site when it is finished?

You do. The domain is registered in your name, the hosting is in your account, and the code is handed to you. If you want to move to someone else in a year, nothing stops you.

What if I want changes after it is live?

Presence includes two rounds of changes before launch. After launch, small changes are usually free if they take me ten minutes. Anything bigger I will quote first, and you decide. I will never do work you have not agreed to and then invoice you for it.

Do I need to write the words?

No. You tell me about the business and I write the copy, then you correct anything I have got wrong. If you would rather write it yourself, that is fine too.

What do you need from me to start?

Your logo if you have one, any photos you want used, and half an hour of your time to answer questions about the business. If you have no logo and no photos, say so and I will work around it.

05 — Start

Tell me what the site
needs to do.

I will come back within a day with the size that fits, a fixed price and a date. If I think you need less than you asked for, I will say that instead.
